Honor is ready to launch the Honor 90 series, a new premium mid-range smartphone series that will launch in China on May 29. Before its launch, the brand has already started making fun of the phones in the new series with a new teaser revealing the design of both the Honor 90 and 90 Pro. The company has now confirmed that the phones will feature a 200-megapixel primary camera, proper dimming, and a large battery.
Announcing that pre-orders have been opened for the Honor 90 series in China via Weibo, Honor also confirmed that the phones will have a 200MP primary camera. It is likely to use the same Samsung ISOCELL HP3 sensor used in the Honor 80 Pro. However, according to Digital Chat Station, the sensor resolution will not be limited to 160MP. Instead, this time the company will use its full potential.
The official Weibo poster on Honor Mall reveals that the Honor 90 and Honor 90 Pro will also come with a “zero-dimming eye protection screen” and a built-in 5,000mAh battery. The Honor 90 series will apparently use a 3840Hz PWM display with zero dimming to protect the eyes.
As far as we can see, most of the main features of the Honor 90 series have not undergone significant changes. The best-in-class model uses the same Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip as its predecessor and features a curved display with 1.5 KB of high-frequency dimming and two holes in the middle. It is not yet clear whether the price will remain the same as the previous model or if Honor plans to offer a new series at a higher price.
