Sony hasn’t released the Xperia Compact smartphone lineup for a long time but may soon be back to them from the other side. According to the latest data, the company may launch a compact smartphone in a “folding” form factor.

This form factor makes it possible to make the smartphone smaller when folded, but not all “folding” devices on the market can be called compact when unfolded. The same Galaxy Z Flip5 has a 6.7-inch diagonal display.

We can only guess what the Sony model will be, but at least we are talking about high performance. Xperia Compact models were flagships, so the traditional Compact Flip (its name is fictitious) could be one of them.

A compact folding smartphone when folded will be quite small by modern standards. In addition, such a Sony device would be unique, if only another company had not released something similar when it was released.
