The devices of the numbered Redmi series, as you know, are intended for the budget segment of the market. The brand has recently launched the Redmi 12C smartphone in India. It is now preparing to add another device to the series, namely the Redmi 12. It is already listed in the IMEI, FCC and TKDN databases. Now, a new report has revealed its specs and prices in Europe. Let’s look at the details.

Redmi 12 prices and features in Europe

According to a leak from French publication Dealabs, the Redmi 12 will have a plastic body and frame measuring approximately 168.60mm × 76.28mm × 8.17mm and weighing around 199 grams. The phone will be powered by a powerful 5000mAh battery with 18W fast charging support. It will be equipped with a USB Type-C port and a slot for two SIM cards.

On the front, the Redmi 12 is said to have a tall 6.79-inch IPS TFT display with a Full HD+ resolution of 2460×1080 pixels. The screen has a pixel density of 396 pixels per inch and a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 3 for added protection from accidental drops and scratches. In particular, the display can support up to 90Hz refresh rate thanks to Xiaomi’s AdaptiveSync refresh rate technology that lets you automatically switch between 30, 48, 60 or 90Hz depending on the content being viewed.

Redmi 12 is expected to have MediaTek Helio G88 processor. It is expected to come with 4GB RAM and 128GB storage variant. Users will also have the option to expand the memory capacity up to 1TB using the microSD card slot.

Coming to the cameras, the device is said to have a triple rear camera setup. The primary sensor will reportedly be a 50-megapixel f/1.8 lens accompanied by an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera and a 2-megapixel macro sensor. The Redmi 12 is said to offer a versatile camera that deserves special attention, as many smartphones in this price range often lack an ultra-wide lens. An 8-megapixel front camera with f/2.5 aperture is expected for selfies.

Other notable features of Redmi 12 include dual speakers, 3.5mm headphone jack, fingerprint scanner and AI facial recognition support. The device will likely come pre-loaded with MIUI 13 based on Android 12. Speaking of price and availability, the Redmi 12 will launch in Europe on June 2 with an expected price of €199. The device will be available in three colors: blue, silver and black.
