Honor announced the Honor Magic Vs foldable phone with Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip in November 2022 in China. The brand is said to launch two or three foldable phones in the domestic market this year. Honor’s new device with model number VER-AN10 has been approved by China’s MIIT authority. Rumors have it that this could be the upcoming Honor Magic V2 foldable phone.

Honor Magic V2 MIIT certification

The MIIT certification has not revealed any information about the specs of the Honor Magic V2, but hints that its launch could be very soon. Rumors surrounding the device claim that the device may come with two chipset variants such as Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 and Snapdragon 8 Gen 2.

There are speculations that the Honor Magic V2 could launch in July. Similar to the Huawei Mate X3, the Magic V2 is expected to have a thinner and lighter design. In comparison, the Mate X3, which was released in March this year, measures 156.9 x 72.4 x 11.8mm when folded and weighs around 240 grams.

Features of Honor Magic V2

According to a leak shared by Tipster Digital Chat Station earlier this month, the Magic V2 will feature a customized 2K LTPO folding display with high-frequency dimming. It will have a 2,840 mAh + 2,060 mAh high-density dual-cell battery with a total capacity of around 5,000 mAh (typical).

The Magic V2 is said to support 66W wired charging and 50W wireless charging. Other details of V2 have yet to be announced. It will compete with upcoming foldable phones like the Xiaomi MIX Fold 3 and OPPO Find N3. The latter will likely be renamed OnePlus V Fold in the global market.
