Vivo has launched the S17 series smartphones in China, including the S17, S17t and S17 Pro models. The series also includes the S17e smartphone announced earlier this month. All three new products received the same 6.78-inch AMOLED displays with rounded edges, Full HD+ resolution (2800×1260 pixels), 120Hz refresh rate and 10-bit color detail as on the S17e. The battery capacity of the presented smartphones is also the same – 4600 mAh, there is support for fast charging with a power of 80 W. All the differences lie in the chips used in the devices and the camera configurations.
Vivo S17 smartphone is equipped with an octa-core Snapdragon 778G+ chip clocked up to 2.5 GHz, Vivo S17t is equipped with an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 8050 processor with a frequency of up to 3.0 GHz and a 5G modem, and a 4 nm clock with a frequency of 3.1 GHz S17 Pro model with octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 8200 s and 5G modem. All smartphones are equipped with 8/12 GB of RAM and 256/512 GB flash drives.
As for photography capabilities, all smartphones received a 50-megapixel front camera with f/2.0 aperture and autofocus.
The Vivo S17 Pro has a 50-megapixel primary IMX766V (f/1.88) camera with OIS on the back and is complemented by a 12-megapixel sensor with 2x optical zoom and aperture, and an 8-megapixel sensor with wide-angle optics. In the S17 and S17t models, the main camera is built on a 50-megapixel sensor with f/2.0 and OIS aperture, supplemented by an 8-megapixel wide-angle sensor (f/2.2). The fingerprint scanner built into the screen is used to unlock devices. Smartphones run on the Android 13 operating system with a special interface to OriginOS 3.
Vivo S17 and S17 Pro sales will begin on June 8 in China. The Vivo S17 8/256GB will be priced at 2499 yuan ($352), while the model with 12/512GB memory will be priced at 2999 yuan ($422). The Vivo S17 Pro with 8/256GB memory will cost 3099 yuan ($436), while the version with 12/512GB memory will cost 3499 yuan ($492). S17t sales start date and price will be announced later.
