As expected, Motorola Razr 40 and Razr 40 Ultra smartphones were introduced today. The flagship model is distinguished by the presence of a larger external display, as well as a more productive hardware platform.

The Razr 40 Ultra features a 6.9-inch main AMOLED display based on low temperature polycrystalline oxide (LTPO) with a resolution of 2640×1080 pixels, a refresh rate of 165 Hz and a maximum brightness of 1400 cd/. On the outside of the case, there is a 3.6-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 1066×1056 pixels and a refresh rate of 144 Hz. Gorilla Glass Victus protects it from mechanical damage. The external display can be used for full interaction with the device, watching videos, listening to music and much more.

The developers reduced the number of components of the hinged mechanism to 85, as its service life should increase. The main camera of the smartphone combines a 12-megapixel main sensor (f/1.5) with a 13-megapixel ultra-wide-angle module (f/2.2) with support for optical stabilization. Video recording in 4K format at up to 60 frames per second is supported. At the top of the main screen is a cutout that houses the 32-megapixel front camera.

The Razr 40 Ultra is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor running at a frequency of up to 3.0 GHz. The Adreno 730 accelerator is responsible for the graphics processing. Users will be able to choose between versions of the device with 8 or 12 GB of RAM and 256 or 512 GB of storage. Autonomous operation is ensured by a battery with a capacity of 3800 mAh, which supports wired charging up to 30 W and wireless charging up to 5 W. A USB Type-C interface is provided for power supply.

Wireless connection is provided with Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/6e and Bluetooth 5.3 adapters. The dimensions of the smartphone are 88.4×74×15.1 mm when folded and 170.8×74×7 mm when unfolded. The weight of the device is 184.5 gr. Android 13 with Moto MyUX interface is used as the software platform. The Razr 40 Ultra retail price in China is $800 for the 8GB RAM and 256GB ROM model and $900 for the 12GB RAM and 512GB ROM model.

The more affordable Razr 40 has a 6.9-inch LTPO AMOLED display that supports Full HD + resolution and 144 Hz refresh rate. An additional 1.5-inch display with a resolution of 368×194 pixels is placed on the outside of the case. Camera, control messages etc. Can be used as a viewfinder.

The device is equipped with a main camera built on the basis of a 64-megapixel sensor (f/1.7) with the help of optical stabilization supported by a 13-megapixel ultra-wide-angle module (f/2.2). The 32 MP front camera is located above the main screen.

The Razr 40 is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 microprocessor, complemented by 8 or 12 GB of RAM and 128 or 256 GB of storage. The power source was a battery with a capacity of 4200 mAh, supporting up to 30 W wired charging and up to 5 W wireless charging. The device will be available in three color versions of the body: Sage Green, Vanilla Cream and Summer Lilac. The basic version with 8GB RAM and 128GB ROM costs around $560 and you will have to pay $660 for the variant with 12GB RAM and 256GB ROM. Both new products will go on sale in China on June 25. Nothing is known yet about the timing of the smartphones starting to be delivered to markets of other regions.
