Looking for a smartphone that can take a good beating and still be durable? If yes, you can check the Nokia XR21. The rugged device was launched in the UK last month and has now made its way to the US. It’s rugged and has an IP69K rating, Gorilla Glass Victus screen protection and MIL-STD-810H certification.

The Nokia XR21 is HMD global’s latest rugged smartphone, and the company calls it unbreakable. While this is an ambitious claim, the device has MIL-STD 810H military grade durability and is IP68 waterproof. It also has IP69K dust, water and drop protection certification. The smartphone received a 6.49-inch LCD screen protected by Gorilla Glass Victus.

The panel has FHD+ resolution, 120 Hz refresh rate, 550 nits maximum brightness and compatibility with wet hands and gloves. It has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner and two programmable buttons. The smartphone uses a 100 percent recycled aluminum body and durable materials.

Nokia XR21 has a 64MP main sensor, 8MP ultra-wide lens and dual primary camera with LED flash. For selfies, you get a 16MP camera. It is powered by a Snapdragon 695 processor paired with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The phone is powered by a 4800mAh battery and supports 33W fast charging. It runs Android 12 out of the box and is promised three years of OS and four years of security updates.

Also, the device received supersonic stereo speakers, 3.5 mm jack, USB-C port, NavIC, 5G, WiFi and Bluetooth 5.1. The Nokia XR21 will be available on Nokia’s US website in Midnight Black for $500.
