The problem came to the fore after users started sharing their experiences on Reddit. While the number of reports isn’t significant enough to conclude that the problem is widespread, it has caused concern among Pixel Watch owners.
Most cases of back panel separation have occurred when users have removed the device from the charging pad, indicating a problem with the adhesive holding the panel to the case.

Google responded by saying it was aware of the situation. The company also replaces defective devices under warranty for most users. However, there have been instances where Google has charged $300 for repairs, causing some frustration among affected customers.
In response to the growing concern, a Google spokesperson commented to Ars Technica:
We are aware that there are very few Google Pixel Watch users who are experiencing an issue with the glass on the back of the watch. We are working to identify the cause and fix it as soon as possible.
iFixit experts researched Pixel Watch and found to mount the rear panel used adhesive with a “liquid seal”. iFixit report says:
It looks like the rear window is held in place by some kind of tight-fitting liquid gasket… It also peels off the glass leaving almost no residue.
This indicates that the adhesive may not be strong enough to secure the back panel and may cause it to peel off. Interestingly, similar issues with poorly adhered back panels were also reported on Fossil smartwatches, pointing to a broader issue with the adhesive used on these devices.
