What could be the second version of Apple Vision?

Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman shares his views on the future of headphones in a new post. He believes the company won’t compromise when creating a cheaper version. The EyeSight external display, which shows the eye and hand movement tracking system as well as the user’s eyes, will most likely stay on the budget headset.

Apple currently plans to launch a cheaper model in late 2025, which means it will launch just two years after the original Vision Pro. At the same time, Apple is working on the second-generation Vision Pro with a faster processor, which indicates that the company plans to release two products, as in the standard iPhone and iPhone Pro models.
says Mark Gurman.

It is unclear how the firm will produce the product more cheaply. The Vision Pro’s three most expensive components are the camera and sensor array, Apple’s dual silicon chips, and two 4K micro-OLED virtual reality displays.

  • For a non-professional model, Apple could probably use lower-end screens, an iPhone-class chip or an older Mac chip, and less cameras for lower performance.
  • Apple could also make simpler mounting designs, use AirPods instead of speakers for surround sound, switch from automatic pupil distance adjustment to physical adjustment, and remove features like the 3D camera.

Combined with a more advanced manufacturing process, economies of scale, and a cheaper framework, Apple could cut the price by at least a few hundred dollars.

It is worth noting that a few hours before the start of the presentation, information appeared on the network that the headset will cost a little more than $ 1,500. This has not been confirmed, of course, but it may well turn out that the company is planning this amount for the base version of the headset. Regardless, things could change more than once by 2025.
