Apple recently announced the Vision Pro, celebrating its new lineup and entry into the VR/AR-enabled headset market. However, with the new headset, it looks like there will be some important changes to the popular iPhone lineup to ensure full integration.

Future Apple iPhones will better support the Vision Pro headset

According to a prominent analyst Ming Chi KuoThe Cupertino-based giant is working to better integrate future iPhone models with the Vision Pro headset. To achieve this, the company will apparently upgrade the hardware of its future iPhones. This move isn’t surprising considering the brand has seamlessly integrated a variety of products across platforms such as iPhone, iPad, MacBook, and more.

Kuo stated that Apple may soon introduce Wi-Fi 7 and UWB (Ultra Wideband) technology for future iPhone models. This will help them work better with the new Vision Pro headset. In other words, the iPhone 15 will likely come with an updated Ultra Wideband chip to offer a reliable and seamless connection to the latest part of the Apple ecosystem. Kuo claims that new iPhones will come with an updated version of the U1 chip. For those who don’t know, this UWB chipset was first shipped inside the iPhone 11.

The improved new chip will even help upgrade various existing features such as AirDrop, Find My and more. But the main advantage of the updated U1 chip is better integration with the Vision Pro headset. Kuo also believes the iPhone 16 will be the company’s first smartphone to feature Wi-Fi 7. This wireless technology will provide more speed and many other benefits. This is crucial for a better virtual and augmented reality experience. Overall, we can even expect this technology to offer better integration across multiple platforms.
