In January of this year, the details about JioPhone 5G became known, all its features were made public. The phone is expected to launch as the most budget 5G device in India. Recently, a Twitter user got hold of an unannounced JioPhone 5G device that not only shared live images of the device but also gave some information about its expected launch date and price.

A new leak suggests that the JioPhone 5G will be launched in India between Diwali and New Year. This shows that the phone will be available for sale domestically in the last quarter of this year.

The JioPhone 5G will likely cost under Rs 10,000 (~$122), meaning it could be the most affordable 5G phone in India. It is not clear whether the device is a Unisoc chip or a MediaTek Dimensity 700 SoC. However, the leak claims that the phone has a 5-megapixel front camera and a 13-megapixel + 2-megapixel dual camera setup on the back.

The phone shown in the leaked live images appears to be the JioPhone 5G prototype. It has a waterdrop notch on the front, while the rear has a vertical dual camera setup with LED flash and the Jio logo in the middle. “Maximum speed, unlimited experiences” is printed at the bottom of the back panel.

JioPhone 5G specs (rumors)

According to this Android CenterLaunched earlier this year, JioPhone 5G features a 6.5-inch IPS LCD HD+ (1600 x 720 pixels) resolution display, side-mounted fingerprint scanner, 8-megapixel front camera, 13-megapixel (primary) + 2-megapixel (macro) dual rear Camera system. Under the hood, the device will be equipped with a Snapdragon 480 chip, 4GB of RAM, 32GB of storage and a 5,000mAh battery that supports 18W charging. The phone will have a microSD card slot, two SIM cards and will support the n3, n5, n28, n40 and n78 5G bands.
