Tipster Ishan Agarwal has released a teaser of the OnePlus Nord 3, which he says will feature a 50-megapixel Sony IMX890 sensor for the main camera with OIS. For those who don’t know, this is a flagship-level camera sensor that the brand is already using on devices like the OnePlus 11 and OnePlus 11R. The promotional material also reveals that the device will have up to 16 GB of RAM and will have RAM-Vita (virtual RAM) support.

The addition of this sensor will undoubtedly increase the camera capabilities of the device. However, it is important to recognize that the overall performance of a camera is highly dependent on the image signal processing capabilities of the system-on-chip (SoC). The 11 and 11R smartphones will be powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and 8 Plus Gen 1 chipsets, respectively, while the Nord 3 will feature the Dimensity 9000 chipset developed by MediaTek. Given the various hardware and software components involved, it will be interesting to see how effectively this chip can exploit the potential of the Sony IMX890 sensor.

The OnePlus Nord 3 is said to have a sizable 6.74-inch display. This display is said to have 1.5K resolution and a smooth 120Hz refresh rate. Powering the device, we can expect a powerful Dimensity 9000 processor along with up to 16GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.

Moving on to the battery, the Nord 3 is said to pack a generous 5,000mAh battery that supports an impressive 80W fast charging capacity. As for the camera setup, leaks suggest a triple rear camera system that is likely to consist of a 50MP primary sensor, 8MP ultra-wide lens and a 2MP macro unit. Selfie lovers can count on the 16-megapixel front camera.

Other features of the device may include dual stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support, 4,129.8 mm (sq.) VC cooling camera, notification slider, NFC function, X-Axis linear motor and IR blaster. Finally, Android 13-based OxygenOS 13.1 is expected to run onboard.
