HMD Global has partnered with iFixit to provide repair manuals and OEM parts for the latest smartphone, including displays, battery and charging ports. This means that the Nokia G42 is HMD Global’s first user-repairable phone.

Nokia G42 features and features

The Nokia G42 has a 6.52-inch teardrop-shaped LCD display. It offers HD+ resolution and 90 Hz refresh rate. The screen is protected by Gorilla Glass. In terms of design, the device is IP52 certified and has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. The rear panel has a rectangular camera module.

In terms of imaging, the Nokia G42 has a triple primary camera. The setup includes a 50MP main sensor, 2MP macro lens and 2MP depth sensor. On the front, the device has an 8-megapixel selfie camera.

Under the hood of the Nokia G42 is a Snapdragon 480+ processor. It is available in 4GB and 6GB RAM variants with 128GB internal storage expandable via microSD card slot. The smartphone is powered by a 5000mAh battery with 20W fast charging. The brand claims that the battery can retain 80% of its starting capacity after 800 charge cycles.

In terms of software, the Nokia G42 runs Android 13 and is guaranteed to receive two years of operating system updates. Connectivity options on the device include 5G, dual 4G VoLTE, WiFi, Bluetooth, USB-C port and 3.5mm headphone jack.

The Nokia G42 is available in purple and gray colours. The price of the 4GB+128GB variant has not been disclosed. The 6GB + 128GB option is priced at $199 / €249. It can be purchased in the US, UK and Europe.
