According to a recent tweet by Kacper Skrzypek, Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 12R is expected to be launched worldwide under the name Redmi 12 5G. Also for Indian customers, the device is likely to be sold as the Poco M6 Pro 5G. It is important to note that the Poco M5 Pro has not been launched in India, suggesting that the brand may abandon it altogether and introduce the M6 Pro 5G instead. The Redmi Note 12R is equipped with a punch-hole camera body and has a 6.79-inch LCD panel with Full HD+ resolution and 90 Hz refresh rate. The 240Hz touch sampling rate ensures a smooth touch response, while DC Dimming improves screen quality.
Powering the device is the recently introduced Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chipset that provides 5G connectivity. It’s paired with up to 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 256GB of UFS 2.2 internal storage, providing plenty of room for storage and multitasking.
On the photography front, the smartphone has a dual camera setup on the back that includes a 50-megapixel primary sensor and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. The front panel has a 5-megapixel camera for selfies and video calls.
