The iPhone 15 Pro Max will be more expensive than the iPhone 14 Pro Max, according to Jeff Pu, a technical analyst at Hong Kong investment firm Haitong International Securities. As a reminder, the iPhone 14 Pro Max’s starting price in the US starts at $1,100. Pu had previously said that the price of the smaller iPhone 15 Pro would also increase.
In addition to a larger battery and screen, the iPhone 15 Pro Max is expected to have one key difference from the iPhone 15 Pro: the periscope lens. Both Pro models will feature a telephoto lens, but the iPhone 15 Pro Max is expected to have a periscopic module that provides 5x or 6x optical zoom; this is a noticeable improvement over the 3x zoom on current models.
Jeff Pu added that the iPhone 15 series will go into mass production in August, so according to tradition, the presentation of the line will take place in September.
Pu predicts Apple will sell around 84 million devices in the second half of 2023, and the two Pro models are likely to be the most popular devices in the lineup in the first few months after launch. Rumor has it all four iPhone 15 models will have a USB-C port, Dynamic Island and a slightly curved bezel.
