Chinese tech giant Huawei has recently released a software update for the Mate30 series that comes with the much anticipated Hongmeng OS version 3.0.0.300 (SP2C00E300R5P8). This update includes many improvements, including the introduction of universal cards and improvements to Smart Multi Window and Pure Mode, among other features.

The update also covers other models, including the P50 series.

One of the standout features of this update is the addition of universal cards. These cards automatically adjust their size as new cards are added or removed. The stacked cards can be rotated and adapted to different scenes, providing users with a smooth experience. The Smart Multi Window feature is also optimized. Users can now save their split screen states to the desktop and enable split screen mode for two apps with one click. When returning to the screen, the floating window automatically shrinks to a smaller size, allowing users to continue their tasks uninterrupted.

The calendar application has received a new function: subscription service to training programs. Users can import their schedules by taking photos or selecting images from their albums. Custom editing of courses and reminders is supported, and curriculum service cards can be added to the desktop for easy access to course information.

Pure Mode was developed to increase security. Added an additional confirmation popup for app bypasses, which reduces risks and gives users better control over each step.

Various system improvements were also implemented. Document preview no longer requires a popup to choose an open method. Call volume can now be easily switched between speakers, headphones and various Bluetooth devices. Huawei’s printing interface has been optimized to simplify the printing process. System performance tweaked for smoother scrolling, page switching and app launch. The Petal Light Tour app also includes a quick download icon for easy access.

Alongside the Mate30 series, this update is rolling out to some other Huawei models, including the Mate X2, Mate 40 Pro 5G, P50 series and nova8/8Pro. These devices can now take advantage of updated features including universal cards and Smart Multi Window feature.
