Foldable that wants to be a standard phone

Aspect Ratio 20:9. It took years for the fold to begin to have a “normal” format. This phone has a “small” 6.43-inch panel when powered off, LTPO type OLED and variable refresh rate up to 120 Hz. life is his main direct competitor.

Both panels are OLED with LTPO type and very high DC Dimming. The brightness of the outer panel is 2,500 nits, a record number in folding

The inner panel is a little more common, but sharing technologies. It should be noted that both panels, the 6.43-inch panel and the 7.92-inch panel, share a DC Dimming of 3840 Hz, which is currently the highest. This technology means how many flashes per second the panel will have, and at a higher rate, less flashes, resulting in increased visual fatigue.

The hinge is titanium coated, and Honor promises it supports over 400,000 openings. If we fold and unfold it 100 times a day, we’re talking about a 10-year operation: a promising useful life.

No hardware was spared with this device: Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 (first foldable with this SoC) has 12GB RAM configurations along with 256, 512GB or 1TB. and 66W fast charging and a groundbreaking 5,000mAh battery.

This phone does not have the classic lithium battery: it has silicon-carbon technology. We recommend that you read our article devoted to this technology, but in summary this solution allows you to achieve the same capacity in less volume. As such, it has a 5,000mAh battery (larger than usual) despite being one of the smallest foldables on the market. Performance and degradation (previously minor) remains to be seen, but this leap into technology is always good news.

Triple camera and Android 13

At the photography level, Honor didn’t want to leave anything in the pipeline either. We find a triple camera setup with optical stabilization on both the main sensor and the telephoto lens. Main sensor and ultra wide angle 50 megapixelstelephoto is 20.

The selfie camera is dual 16 megapixels: one on the outer screen and the other on the inner screen. From the camera configuration, we can sense that this phone aspires to be one of the best foldable photography candidates. It’s doubtful that we’ll get clarification on the in-depth review.

The software is signed by Honor with the latest version of Magic UI based on Android 13. It is software that will come with Google services when it comes to Europe, so it competes with any competitor in that regard.

Versions and price of Honor Magic V2
