The development was presented by the Chinese company Fourier Intelligence. Their technologies are mostly used in the medical field for the rehabilitation of the seriously ill as well as the patients with impaired motor function, from devices for training the hand joints to exoskeletons that assist walking.

Robot GR-1

• The GR-1 is 165 centimeters tall and weighs 55 kilograms.
• Instead of a face, it has a fairly large screen on which information will be displayed.
• The maximum speed of movement while walking is 5 kilometers per hour. This is enough to comfortably accompany a slow walking patient.
• Electric drives with 40 degrees of freedom help keep work moving.

Such features make it possible to help patients lie down easily or to support them while sitting in a chair. In addition, the GR-1 will help lonely people with household chores. The robot can be programmed to handle dishes and do other household chores.

The project was restarted in 2019. From 2021, the company is working to increase the capabilities of the prototypes. Currently, Fourier Intelligence engineers are trying to teach the GR-1 to navigate unfamiliar places and execute commands on its own without prior programming.

The company plans to create about 100 robots by the end of the year. But they will not go to help people, but to research laboratories where researchers will study them.
