In a recent Weibo post by 定焦糖, the author revealed that Huawei may launch its Mate 60 smartphone before the Mid-Autumn Festival (September 29) and National Day (October 1) in China. The company plans to introduce its smartphone on the eve of the holiday so as not to lose sales. This means we can expect the smartphone to arrive by the end of September. The leaker also said that Huawei has not experienced manufacturing issues with its flagship device, which means there will be no further delays to the launch.

Previous reports have mentioned that the Mate 60 series smartphones will feature the “Spirit Island” design, which is essentially a pill-shaped cutout for the front camera, much like the dynamic island on the iPhone 14 Pro. The smartphone is said to be equipped with three cameras with a 50MP primary camera. The screen is likely to have a 6.7-inch 1.5K OLED panel.

Leaks also indicate that Huawei may not use the previously rumored Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, but instead use an alternative such as the MediaTek chip. This choice is probably due to the fact that Huawei still suffers from the sanctions imposed on it by the US.
