In recent years, the trend towards foldable smartphones has become widespread despite their relatively high cost. Earlier this year, Tecno entered the foldable device market with its first device, the Phantom V Fold. Surprisingly, this offer was priced almost 50% lower than competitors like the Galaxy Z Fold 5. Now Tecno is preparing to launch another product: a mid-range flip phone called the Tecno Phantom V Flip 5G. Well-known leaker Paras Guglani has published images and specs of this upcoming device.

According to a recent article on Newzonly, insider Paras Guglani has posted rendered images of the upcoming Phantom V Flip 5G. The design of the smartphone is particularly interesting due to its unique approach to the screen cover. Unlike the traditional separation of camera and screen, Tecno decided to integrate a circular screen with a cover surrounded by a camera ring.

Tecno Phantom V Flip 5G Features

On the back of the device, there will be a dual camera setup consisting of a 64-megapixel autofocus sensor and a 13-megapixel sensor. The phone is said to have a 32-megapixel camera on the front.

The external screen of the device will have a 1.32 inch AMOLED panel with a resolution of 466×466. Inside the device, it will have a 6.9-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080×2640. Under the hood, it will be powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 8050 chipset paired with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.

Like other foldable devices on the market, the Phantom V Flip 5G will come with a dual battery configuration consisting of 1,165 mAh and 2,735 mAh batteries, and these are likely to be sold in 4,000 mAh capacities. It will run Android 13 out of the box and will come in minimal black, subtle white and periwinkle purple colors.

The report also mentions that the smartphone will support a total of 14 different 5G bands. The first teaser of the Phantom V Flip 5G will reportedly be released next month. As a result, it’s reasonable to assume that the brand will officially launch the device around October.
