It looks like the basic iPhone 14 has paid off after all. Apple’s current lineup of smartphones started out with demand for older Pro models much higher than regular models, despite the price difference. The iPhone 14 Pro Max held the lead for a long time, but now the situation has come to the same point as in previous years.
According to DSCC analysts, the base iPhone 14 is the market leader for smartphones with OLED screens in monetary terms. Its share in the second quarter accounted for 15.3% of all sales. In the previous quarter, the iPhone 14 Pro Max continued to lead and took an even larger share.
Let us also remind you that we are talking about selling in monetary terms and that the iPhone 14 is much cheaper than its older siblings. So quantitatively the difference between the models should be even higher.
In addition to the iPhone 14, the list of leaders includes the iPhone 13, which surpasses even the new models with a share of 11.1%. This was followed by the iPhone 14 Pro Max with 10.7%, iPhone 14 Pro with 9.2% and Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra with 5.2%. Yes, only the market for smartphones with OLED screens is considered here, but if we talk about flagships, then there are almost none on the market.
