An observing citizen noticed a person believed to be a Tesla employee while examining a Cybertruck prototype under the hood near a highway in Los Altos Hills. Curiosity caused the observer to turn around for a closer look, but found the vehicle abandoned and hidden under an unmarked tarp.

Unexpected events allowed the witness to take detailed photos of the Cybertruck, including its suspension and undercarriage, hitherto unseen.

what could it be

While this chapter raises many questions, it is unlikely to be answered immediately. Tesla’s decision to close its press office in 2020 resulted in limited official communication channels. Attempts to reach the electric vehicle manufacturer for information on the incident have so far been unsuccessful.

It should be noted that the failure of prototype cars during testing is a common occurrence and often serves as an opportunity to diagnose and fix potential problems. Stress testing prototypes to the point of failure is a crucial step in the development process.

However, the plight of the abandoned Cybertruck was not discussed only because of its technical malfunction. Enthusiasts in the r/RealTesla subreddit were baffled when a supposed Tesla employee left the prototype unattended on the side of a highway, resulting in unprecedentedly detailed photos showing some of the unreleased vehicle’s interiors.

Uncertainty also surrounds the potential impact on Cybertruck’s planned release date, as the community ponders whether such action is within Tesla protocol. As we approach the end of the third quarter next month, we’ll see what implications this event might have for the car’s final release date.
