ISOCELL cameras with incredible high resolution of 200 megapixels are Samsung’s strongest point, and the company uses them in its top-of-the-line flagships, including the Galaxy S23 Ultra. Next year’s Galaxy S24 Ultra is expected to feature the same tech, but an insider has revealed that Samsung plans to expand beyond that in the near future.
what is known
Alongside the 440-megapixel sensor, Samsung is also developing a new 200-megapixel sensor, but there’s no word on which smartphone it will be used on. Perhaps it will be an improvement over legacy technology or some other type of sensor.
- According to Revegnus, the 50-megapixel sensor will have a pixel size of 1.6 micrometers.
- 200 megapixels – 0.6 micrometers.
- This indicator is not yet known about the new 440 megapixels, but logically it should be even smaller and therefore more pixels will fit in one unit area and will provide better picture quality.
All three sensors It will go into mass production in the second half of 2024.. Therefore, a 440MP camera can be expected on the Galaxy S25 Ultra in 2025 or the S26 Ultra in 2026. The company could skip a generation by allowing other manufacturers to test the new technology first. Samsung has done this before by selling the newly created 200 megapixels to Xiaomi and Motorola and then releasing the S23 Ultra itself.
