Oppo launched the Reno 7 5G in India in February. Despite being launched in the second month of 2022, the smartphone debuted with ColorOS 12 based on Android 11. Now, three months after its launch, the company has launched the beta program of Android 12 as planned. Earlier this month, Oppo announced that it will begin beta testing of Android 12 for the Oppo Reno 7 5G in India on May 18. But the company itself opened registration today (May 16).

For those who don’t know, Oppo is known for launching a ColorOS beta initiative ahead of schedule for some devices. Therefore, we are not surprised to learn that Reno 7 5G users in India can sign up for the program two days earlier.

A firmware version A.14 must be installed on the device to enroll. That’s the only condition. But the brand has only allocated 5,000 seats and the registration window is closing on May 23.

To register, users must go to: “Settings” > “Software Update” > “Gear Icon” > “Beta Application” > “Beta Update” and follow the on-screen instructions. Selected candidates will receive the beta version of Android 12 via OTA within 3 business days.

Oppo has yet to release a stable release date. In any case, judging by the company’s history of software distribution, a stable version of Android 12 is likely to appear on the Oppo Reno 7 5G in India in a month or two. Source
