Redmi is reportedly planning to launch the Redmi K70e, Redmi K70 and Redmi K70 Pro by the end of this year. These devices are said to be powered by Dimensity 8300, Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipsets, respectively. In a recent Weibo post, the whistleblower Digital Chat Station (via TechGoing) revealed some new details about the K70.

Redmi K70 Pro could be the first K-series phone with a telephoto camera

Based on DCS’s Weibo post, we can say that the Redmi K70 Pro will be an almost premium device with a metal middle frame that promises better durability than its predecessor. The leak also suggests that the K70 Pro could be the first Redmi K series phone with a telephoto camera. The telephoto camera seems to support 3x optical zoom.

The reports claim that the model names 23117RK66C, 2311DRK48C and 23113RKC6C belong to the Redmi K70e, K70 and K70 Pro respectively. DCS previously claimed that the K70 Pro (23113RKC6C) will feature the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, but a recent Geekbench listing revealed that the device has the Dimensity 9200+ chip.

Commenting on the report, Kacper Skrzypek said that there was a small problem with the list. On Geekbench, the Redmi phone 23113RKC6C is marked “Corot”, which is currently associated with the Redmi K60 Ultra (23078RKD5C). The whistleblower claims that the device model is probably fake as the ROM has no indication of a newer model. This doesn’t rule out the possibility of the 23113RKC6C being released, but suspects that the 23113RKC6C is indeed a “Corot”.

According to other reports, the Redmi K70 Pro will have a flat screen with 2K resolution and possibly 120Hz refresh rate. Under the hood can be found a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip, up to 24GB of LPDDR5x RAM, 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage and a 5120mAh battery with 120W fast charging. It may come with Android 13 based on MIUI 14 and a built-in fingerprint scanner. In the global market, K70 Pro can be renamed as Poco F6 Pro.
