Rokid introduced its latest AR spatial computing suite, Rokid AR Studio, during a new product launch. This state-of-the-art kit includes the Rokid Max Pro AR glasses and the Rokid Station Pro computing host.
Features of Rokid Max Pro glasses:
Priced at 4,999 yuan ($685), the Max Pro glasses are impressively light at 76 grams and offer a 90Hz screen refresh rate. They have an enhanced 9-axis gravity sensor IMU and support 6DOF for head control. With a viewing angle of 50 degrees, users can experience a projection equivalent to a 215-inch screen from 6 meters away.
AR glasses also feature 500 nits of brightness and 100,000:1 contrast ratio, meeting TUV Rheinland eye comfort standards. Volume control is made easy thanks to the built-in dual line microphone with noise canceling.
Rokid Station Pro Features:
On the other hand, the host Station Pro, which retails for 3,999 yuan ($548), has a powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon XR2+ Gen1 processor. Combined with 12GB LPDDR5 RAM and 128GB storage, this host ensures smooth operation. It has a 48-megapixel Sony IMX586 rear camera with 115-degree field of view and autofocus. Powered by a 7,620 mAh battery, the host also supports NFC and Wi-Fi 6 technologies and includes a 9-axis IMU sensor. The device runs the YodaOS Master operating system and includes physical buttons for navigation.
One of the highlights of Rokid AR Studio is that it works without the need for a controller. Users can interact with the system using glasses, gestures or voice, eliminating the need for additional equipment. The studio offers two main viewing modes: Spatial Multi-Screen and Spatial Giant Display, which provides visuals with a wide 32:9 aspect ratio.
Rokid CEO Mingming Zhu envisions the seamless integration of spatial computing into daily life and professional tasks. The development of augmented reality devices has shown impressive growth in 2023 with a significant increase in sales. Rokid, along with Leyan Innovations and XREAL, is one of the top three brands in China’s online AR market.
The main uses for AR currently include entertainment, office tasks and games. Interestingly, 70% of new EV brands include Rokid in-car entertainment solutions.
According to analysts, the augmented reality market is getting ready to expand further, especially with new product launches and promotional activities. Forecasts for 2023 show that sales of consumer AR devices in China could reach 250,000 units, representing up to 150% growth over the previous year.
