At the end of July, Motorola Razr 40 Ultra received a major software update in China with many changes. A month later, the vanilla Motorola Razr 40 received similar treatment in the region. A new system update has arrived for the device with tons of fixes and optimizations. It also increases the level of the security patch.

The official name of this update is “OTA2”. In other words, this is the second major update since the clamshell software was released. According to the official changelog, the new system update of Motorola Razr 40 comes with August 2023 security patches. It also comes with updated version of almost all system apps including Calendar, Clock, Moto Display, Launcher and more.

The latest software update also provides optimizations for real-time subtitles, face authentication, power consumption, screen brightness, network, gaming, camera and more. It even fixes compatibility issues with some third-party apps

Unfortunately, the update doesn’t include any new features except one. Adds a new watch style called “light shuttle” to the cover screen. Finally, the OTA system update comes with firmware version T2TV33.45-69-2. Although the update has already started rolling out, it may take some time to reach all devices.

As for the global version of the device, Motorola has not announced anything about such a software update. Therefore, we are not sure if and when it will receive the aforementioned update.
