OnePlus is rolling out new firmware updates for OnePlus 8/8 Pro and OnePlus 9R in India. OnePlus 9R receives firmware update LE2101_13.1.0.582(EX01) released for OnePlus 8, firmware IN2011_13.1.0.582(EX01) released for OnePlus 8, and firmware IN2021_13.1.0.582(EX01) released for OnePlus 8 Pro. The new update includes the August 2023 Android security patch to improve system security.
OnePlus took to the community forums to detail the update for both the OnePlus 9R and OnePlus 8/8 Pro. This month’s security patch includes fixes for 2 critical security issues and 50 vulnerabilities marked as high and medium severity. This is a huge upgrade unlike system security.

This is a phased update and it may take some time to reach each block. Therefore, the user has to wait a few hours or days for the update to be fully deployed.
If you haven’t received the update, you can check it manually by going to: Settings > About > Check for updates. However, the user may detect minor changes in the firmware version due to migration. OnePlus to the new OTA version number format. The update is only for the India (IN) region and may expand to other countries after a while.
