It is known that software support for old smartphones has ended. Xiaomi updates the official EOS (end of support) list from time to time to notify users when their phones are supported.

Just a few days ago, the company stopped software support for the Redmi Note 9 and two other devices. The company has now updated the list with four new phones. The last batch included only budget models. But the new one also consists of an intermediate level. According to Xiaomiui, Xiaomi will no longer offer new OTA system updates for the following smartphones.

  • Redmi K30 Ultra
  • Poco M2 Pro
  • Redmi 9 Prime
  • Redmi 9CNFC

The first three products are currently running on Android 12. However, the affordable Redmi 9C continues to work with the standard MIUI 12 software based on Android 10. It received only bug fixes and security patches during its lifetime.

While Redmi K30 Ultra and Poco M2 Pro are working on the latest version of MIUI 14, their version is Android 12 which is a generation behind. Both launched with Android 10, but the Poco device was launched with MIUI 11 compared to MIUI 12 on Redmi.

Finally, the Redmi 9 Prime also boots with Android 12. However, the software was released with MIUI 13. Android 10 based MIUI 11. In either case, these phones will continue to work normally as before. Users will not have compatibility problems with the most frequently used programs.
