war of robots

In the last decade, the adoption of advanced robotic military technology has increased dramatically, and many of these innovations have come from commercial technological advances. The global environment of armed conflict has become a practical arena for testing and developing new technologies in real conditions.

US Deputy Secretary of Defense Hicks stressed the urgent need revision of existing war strategies. The Replicator program aims to provide the United States with a wide range of autonomous weapons systems, and this transformation is expected to occur in the next 18 to 24 months. These systems need to be economical and cost-effective, and be able to operate on land, at sea, in the air and even in space without the need for human intervention.

How to fight China?

While Russia remains a major concern for the Pentagon, China’s military capabilities are seen as a growing problem. The Chinese People’s Liberation Army has a distinct numerical advantage and can boast a significant amount of manpower, military equipment and ammunition. Pentagon considers to counter China’s numerical superiority deployment of large swarms of robotic units especially as a decisive factor in any possible conflict in the Taiwan region.

South Korea development

It should also be noted that South Korea has achieved significant success in the development of robotic aviation. The world’s first pilot android known as PIBOT has been successfully developed. PIBOT’s capabilities go beyond sitting in the pilot’s seat and manipulating the controls; It uses artificial intelligence technology to memorize flight charts and emergency protocols.

While PIBOT has yet to pass actual flight testing, its work in computer simulations has demonstrated its potential effectiveness.
