HONOR introduced new advanced devices under the slogan “Expand tomorrow” at IFA 2023. One of them is the HONOR Magic V2. They plan to release it worldwide soon. HONOR also introduced a unique concept device called the HONOR V Wallet, as it resembles a handbag.
HONOR V wallet
The V Purse is a bit unusual as it folds outward. Huawei had a similar design to the Mate X in 2019. It has a large external screen that covers the phone when folded and creates a smoother surface.
V Purse turns a rugged phone into a fashion statement with customizable always-on displays that mimic the look of a purse, complete with chains, feathers and tassels that move with the phone. You can also change the straps and carry it like a regular purse or wallet.
There is a small button to expand the screen. HONOR V Wallet is thinner than Huawei Mate Xs and Mate Xs 2, and thinner than 9mm when folded; which makes it 20% thinner than Huawei and 10.1% thinner than Magic V2.
HONOR designed the V Purse with sustainability in mind; used vegan leather on the straps and promoted longer-lasting fashion. This can help environmentally conscious consumers reduce their consumption of fast fashion.
HONOR didn’t give much details on the hardware, as it’s not meant for mass production. It is not known whether it will be available to the public, as it has been a long time since the previous concept devices became reality.
Co-design for AOD HONOR
HONOR has partnered with creative talents such as BURBERRY’s Bram Van Diepen and contemporary artist Yunuene Esparza to develop custom always-on displays (AODs) for their devices.
This collaboration aims to infuse fashion into technology. In the next stage, HONOR will open its API interface to aspiring designers worldwide, allowing them to create innovative designs using sensors such as gyroscope and touch, shaping future lifestyle trends.

HONOR Magic V2 is available worldwide
HONOR unveiled its flagship HONOR Magic V2 foldable phone to the world at IFA 2023. This greatly improves the design, battery life, screen quality and user experience.
Despite its advanced features, it is extremely light (231 g) and impressively thin (9.9 mm) thanks to careful design and construction.
