The next major releases are expected to be subsidiary Vivo’s iQOO 12 and 12 Pro. The two phones are expected to launch later this year, and we’re already seeing a lot of leaks about them. It was previously reported that the smartphones are equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor and support fast wired and wireless charging. And now, a popular Chinese whistleblower has revealed the screen’s specs and other key details.
Tipster Digital Chat Station shared the new features of the iQOO 12 smartphones, suggesting that the device will receive a Samsung E7 AMOLED panel with a frequency of 144 Hz and 2K resolution. The speaker also talks about the OmniVision OV64B periscope zoom camera, which he has highlighted in previous leaks. DCS doesn’t give details, but it’s possible that the camera sensor is limited to the iQOO 12 Pro.
It is also said that the iQOO 12 series has a metal structure and supports 200W fast charging. Additionally, both phones are expected to come with ultrasonic fingerprint scanner and USB Type-C 3.x port. Known for its impeccable history with Chinese flagship devices, Indian adds credibility to these details.
As mentioned, both smartphones can be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip, which is expected to launch in October. It wouldn’t surprise us to see the top configuration of the iQOO 12 Pro with 24GB of LPDDR5x RAM and 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage. Both the iQOO 12 and 12 Pro should run Android 14-based Origin OS 4.0 out of the box.
