The launch of Apple’s next-generation flagship smartphone is just around the corner. The company will announce the all-new iPhone 15 series next week; Here’s a detailed look at everything we know about the high-end iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max (also rumored to be called iPhone 15 Ultra).
Apple iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max/Ultra: design and display
One of the most notable changes coming to the iPhone 15 series is the design upgrade. More expensive Pro models are expected to switch from stainless steel to titanium. This will make the devices lighter than the previous generation and also more powerful. It is noteworthy that titanium is already used in the Apple Watch series, so this is not the first time the company has worked with such materials.
Another important design change is the switch to a USB Type-C port for charging and data transfer. The upcoming iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max models may also feature a display with bezels that are only 1.55mm thinner than the iPhone 14 Pro’s 2.17mm. The iPhone 15 Pro series was initially rumored to have solid-state buttons, but these plans were reportedly canceled due to technical issues.
These buttons will replace physical buttons and use haptic feedback to simulate the feeling of pressing a button. However, while the buttons do not change, a new one can be added to the Pro models. Sources have hinted that the new iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max may feature an action button instead of a silent slider.
This action button can be found next to the volume buttons and is used for launching the camera etc. It helps you perform quick tasks like: The front of the iPhone 15 Pro series is expected to feature an OLED panel with an energy-saving display driver chip. While the Pro will have a 6.1-inch panel, the Pro Max will have a taller 6.7-inch display with Face ID support and Dynamic Island notch. The panel is expected to feature LIPO technology, which was first used in Apple Watch Series 7.

Apple iPhone 15 Pro series: features
Under the hood, both models will be equipped with the Apple A17 Bionic chipset, which is based on a 3-nanometer process and provides an approximately 10-15 percent performance increase over the previous generation chip. iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max, unlike their predecessors, can have more than 8 GB of LPDDR5 RAM instead of 6 GB. RAM isn’t the only aspect affected, as base storage is also expected to increase from 128GB to 256GB, with a maximum of 2TB.
The iPhone 14 Pro is said to be powered by a 3,650 mAh battery, while the iPhone 15 Pro Max may have a 4,952 mAh battery, which is larger than the iPhone 14 Pro series. Rumor has it that the upcoming iPhone Pro series may feature 35W fast charging. On the back, Apple will probably update the camera hardware. The iPhone 15 Pro Max may come with an almost 1-inch camera sensor with a 48-megapixel sensor similar to the Sony IMX803. Previous reports have claimed that future iPhones may also feature a periscope lens that will provide enhanced zoom capabilities.
Launch date, prices and colors
The announcement of the iPhone 15 series is planned to be made on September 12, 2023. Apple will unveil the new devices along with some other products at 1pm ET. It looks like the brand is planning to significantly increase the price of the next generation iPhone. The iPhone 15 Pro can start at $1,099, which is $100 more than the iPhone 14 Pro.
