Asus released Android 12 for Zenfone 8 and Zenfone 8 Flip smartphones in December. It took almost five months for the Taiwanese company to resume what it started. Android 12 is now available for Zenfone 7 and Zenfone 7 Pro, which were released in 2020.
The new firmware has a version number of 31,0210,0210,250 for both models. As always, new software is distributed in batches, so it may take several days for all smartphones in the world to receive update notifications. To manually check for updates, you can go to “Settings” > “System” and click “System Update”.
If at some point you want to go back to Android 11 with Android 12, you will lose all your data. Therefore, before upgrading to Android 12, it is recommended to make a backup just in case.
Asus Zenfone 7 and 7 Pro have all the innovations of Android 12, as well as updated firmware, “tuned” quick settings panel, notification panel and sound panel, as well as system charging animation. Asus Safeguard has been replaced with the standard Emergency SOS feature. Source
