Following the presentation of the iPhone 15 on Tuesday, Apple released various related accessories, including a USB-C to Lightning adapter and a one-meter Thunderbolt 4 Pro cable. It was revealed that the company is also launching a new 1-meter 60W USB-C charging cable ($19) and a 2-meter 240W USB-C cable ($29) designed to charge iPhone 15, iPad and Mac models.

Apple is unveiling a new braided charging cable with USB-C connectors on both ends; “Ideal for charging, syncing and transferring data between USB-C devices.” It supports up to 240W charging and transfers data at USB 2 speed. Compatible with all iPhone 15 models and the latest iPad and Apple Mac models, the cable can be connected to a compatible USB-C power adapter to charge devices from a wall outlet. and enjoy the benefits of fast charging.

While the new standard iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus feature a USB-C port, data transfer over the cable is limited to USB 2.0 speeds of up to 480 Mbps, which is the same as the Lightning port on previous iPhones.

The higher-end iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max also have a USB-C port, but these devices support USB 3 data transfer speeds of up to 10 Gbps over the cable. That’s why Apple has released a one-meter shorter version of the previously available Thunderbolt 4 Pro cable for $69.
