Apple iPhone 15 Pro series is finally equipped with NavIC

According to a TechCrunch report, the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max are the first iPhone models to feature GPS NavIC. For those who don’t know, it is a domestic GPS technology developed by the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO). NavIC uses seven satellites covering India and a region approximately 1,500 kilometers beyond the country’s borders. It also serves other purposes such as land, air and sea transportation.

This feature can be accessed from the iPhone 15 Pro series detailed technical specifications list and the cellular and wireless section. Unfortunately NavIC support is limited to high-end devices. So iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus do not have local GPS technology. iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max are the first devices with NavIC technology, similar to smartphones from other brands such as Xiaomi, OnePlus and Vivo.

Thus, ISRO’s technology has become increasingly popular in recent years. This move also shows Apple’s desire to expand in the region. The company has already started assembling the new iPhone 15 series in the region and plans to expand production in a bid to reduce its dependence on China.
