What is a Galaxy Ring?

Galaxy Ring is the biggest mystery Samsung is currently working on. This is also one of the tech’s most intriguing possibilities: Can the company fit all the sensors it needs into a miniature case so the technology isn’t a waste of money?

Recall that rumors in July claimed that the ring would come with health-related functions (monitoring various indicators, which is carried out today with smartwatches and bracelets and their subsequent transfer to the smartphone), as well as with an additional bonus: the possibility of combining it with future Samsung AR headsets. The ring is supposed to be better than the Galaxy Watch in terms of measurement accuracy, but you can’t expect many features from such a small body. Sources call this product “niche” and are unsure of its future popularity.

That’s why some South Korean users are exploring Samsung Wearable, the company’s app for managing and tracking wearable devices that include everything we use on our bodies—watches, bracelets, glasses, and even rings. Among all the updates, a new icon was found depicting a ring. Maybe this is just another icon, but given what we already know about the Galaxy Ring, journalists have suggested that this is not only evidence that a new device has been added to the app, but also hints that the new product will be released very soon.

It’s not clear when that will happen. The company is preparing to launch the Fan Edition series devices at the end of the year. Among these, there will be a Galaxy S23 FE smartphone, but it is not possible to say whether there will be a ring or not. We do not yet know the exact date of the presentation. But as practice shows, as we get closer, the number of leaks increases. So we’re likely to learn more very soon.
