Many months have passed since the debut of the Xiaomi 13 series, and there is still time for the introduction of Xiaomi 14 smartphones. But it’s time for the mid-range premium Xiaomi 13T series. This new series includes the Xiaomi 13T and Xiaomi 13T Pro, which will be unveiled at an event in Berlin on September 25. Both models will have solid features for their price, but the Pro model is expected to be particularly attractive.
Xiaomi is making significant changes to the design of the Xiaomi 13T Pro. According to leaked images, the back panel of the smartphone is expected to be made of glass or leather and there will be a square camera module in the upper left corner. The smartphone looks more stylish and higher quality compared to the Xiaomi 12T Pro. But looks can be subjective, so we leave that decision up to you. Xiaomi 13T Pro will reportedly come in black and blue; The first color will be under the glass panel, and the second will be part of the vegan leather design.
The design of the smartphone is very similar to the Redmi K60 Ultra. In fact, rumors suggest that this is the same phone with a different name. Since the K60 Ultra is only available in China, it’s a good thing we’re getting it somewhat globally.
In any case, the Xiaomi 13T Pro has a flat display on the front with a cutout for the selfie camera in the top center. The display is expected to be 6.67-inch OLED with a 144Hz refresh rate and 1220p resolution. In comparison, the Xiaomi 12T Pro launched with the same 6.67-inch display with a lower 120Hz refresh rate.
Xiaomi 13T Pro is expected to have some important hardware. For starters, the phone might be powered by the Dimensity 9200+ chip. This is MediaTek’s flagship SoC based on TSMC’s NP4 node. It includes one fast Cortex-X3 core with a frequency of up to 3.05 GHz, three A715 cores with a frequency of up to 2.85 GHz and four energy-efficient cores (Cortex-A510) with a clock frequency of up to 1.8 GHz.
The phone is likely to be offered with 12 or 16 GB of RAM and a variety of storage options, including 256 GB, 512 GB or 1 TB. The highlight will be the 5,000mAh battery, which is said to support 120W fast charging. We do not expect wireless charging support on Xiaomi 13T Pro. However, the handset must be IP68 dust and water resistant (up to 1.5m for 30 minutes).
The Xiaomi 13T Pro camera is expected to be Leica branded and have a 50-megapixel main sensor with Sony IMX707 sensor, a 50-megapixel telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom, and a 13-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera. The front camera will remain at 20 MP, as in the Redmi K60 Ultra. So the only change made to the camera system is on the back of the phone.
The price of the Xiaomi 13T Pro will most likely be similar to last year’s model. Offering 12 GB RAM and 256 GB storage, the top-of-the-range Xiaomi 12T Pro is currently available in Europe for around €719. According to rumors, the 12GB + 512GB configuration of the Xiaomi 13T Pro will cost 900 euros. We will undoubtedly learn all the details on launch day. Stay tuned for updates.
