In February, Samsung traditionally holds its first event of the year, Galaxy Unpacked. The new generation Galaxy S flagship phones will be exhibited at the event. Although the launch of the South Korean brand’s new generation Galaxy S24 is still a few months away, rumors about the devices continue to circulate. Potential launch dates for the first Samsung Unpacked event in 2024 are now known.

Samsung Galaxy S24 series launch time announced

According to reliable insider Ice Universe on Chinese microblogging site Weibo, Samsung may hold its Galaxy Unpacked event earlier than usual next year. The launch date is expected to be January 18. This means that the Galaxy S24 series will appear earlier. Ice Universe adds that the date may not be exact, but the South Korean brand will probably announce its new generation flagships around these dates.

The last Samsung Galaxy Unpacked event was held in January 2021, when the Galaxy S21 series was released. The early launch means Samsung’s next-gen Galaxy S24 series will compete with flagships from brands like Vivo, Xiaomi and OnePlus, which are usually announced after the launch of the Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset in October or November. The S24 series will also help Samsung meet strong demand for Apple’s iPhone 15 series.
