A new tip from China suggests that October will be a busy month for smartphone launches, with many new devices expected, including several advanced ones.

It is said that Oppo will announce its new Find N3 foldable smartphone next month. It is stated that this device is equipped with a dual-layer transistor CMOS sensor, which can significantly improve image quality.

Honor is also expected to announce its next foldable phone in October, along with a new smartwatch and a new device from the Play series. It is said that Huawei will also announce the Nova 11 SE series next month. We recently spotted the Nova 11 SE listed by TENNA, revealing that it has a flat back with a dual round camera module and a triple camera setup.

Oppo Find N3 is expected to be the most interesting device of the group thanks to its new camera sensor. Oppo has partnered with Sony’s image sensor brand Lytia to introduce Sony’s dual-layer sensors in upcoming Oppo flagships. The new sensors are expected to “unleash the next era of computational photography.”

This sensor uses a two-layer structure to separate the transistor and photodiode layers. This allows the use of larger photodiodes that can capture more light and reduce noise even in difficult lighting conditions. But this technology is not completely new. Sony used the ExmorT IMX 888 multilayer CMOS sensor with 2-layer transistor pixel technology in the Xperia 1 V earlier this year.

In addition to the new camera sensor, Oppo Find N3 is expected to have a 7.82-inch 2268×2440 pixel resolution internal display and a 6.31-inch 2484×1116 pixel resolution external display.
