MacRumors Received preliminary information about the planned weight and dimensions for iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max. This information confirms previous reports that the iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max will have larger displays.
iPhone 16 and 16 Plus
Current information suggests that the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus will retain the same dimensions as the current iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus; the only difference is that the weight of both models will increase by approximately 2 grams (173 grams for iPhone 16 and 203). g for iPhone 16 Plus. iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus will be available with the same 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch screen sizes as their predecessors.
However, regardless of size, the base model iPhone 16 and 16 Plus are expected to feature a redesigned camera bump with a vertical camera layout similar to the iPhone 12. These will also likely include a capacitive Action button and possibly even an all button. A new capacitive button pleasure.
In terms of materials, the “iPhone 16” and 16 Plus are expected to use the same type of aluminum as the “iPhone 15” body and also have a matte glass back. Since the increase is a result of minor design changes, material choice is unlikely to significantly affect the weight of the devices.
iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max
The iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max will have a larger screen size of around 6.3 inches and 6.9 inches respectively compared to the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max. To be more precise, the iPhone 16 Pro will have a 6.27-inch (159.31 mm) display, while the iPhone 16 Pro Max will have a 6.85-inch (174.06 mm) panel.
This represents a noticeable increase of 0.2 inches for both models. As a result, the dimensions of the device as a whole will increase. The iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max will be slightly longer and also slightly wider than their predecessors. Interestingly, the width of both devices looks set to match their iPhone 14 series counterparts, the iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max.

In terms of materials, the ‘iPhone 16’ Pro and ‘iPhone 16’ Pro Max are expected to retain the same Grade 5 titanium used in the ‘iPhone 15 Pro’ with the same matte finish and curved design. Like the base iPhone 16 model, the iPhone 16 Pro has a slightly larger action button and an all-new capacitive Capture button.
It should be emphasized that the information presented here is extremely premature. We’re almost a year away from the launch of the iPhone 16 and the design is still far from complete.
