OnePlus today launched a new smartphone in red for India. A teaser was seen on Amazon’s microsite, indicating that the device will arrive soon. OnePlus hasn’t announced whether this is a new phone or a new color variant for an existing device. The second possibility seems more likely.

Understand: OnePlus only has a few major smartphones left for this year. OnePlus Open is expected to launch on October 19, but the teaser clearly shows the smartphone in panel format.

Everything becomes clearer when you put the teaser text into context. The teaser says “R3”, “18” and “512”, which shows that OnePlus is hinting at the OnePlus 11R with 18 GB RAM and 512 GB storage.

We would like to reinforce this point with the recent launch of the OnePlus Ace 2, which is essentially the OnePlus 11R for the global market, in a new Red Vegan Leather version in China. Therefore, it seems logical for OnePlus to introduce this new color option outside of China.
