Some iPhone 15 users are complaining not only about overheating issues but also about the built-in speakers. As 9to5mac wrote, they make a muffled, rattling sound. There are many comments on Reddit from users of various iPhone 15 models who noticed that the sound was distorted and hoarse at very high volumes. Most of the problems are with the top speaker.

“My iPhone 15 Pro Max arrived on launch day and out of the box, calls were made through the speaker at full volume, as if there was liquid inside the phone. The same goes for music above 80%,” the user writes. “In my experience, the audio shakes and crackles in certain videos or in certain frequency ranges,” another user said.

User Milesabovetech reported that he was complaining about crackling sound issues on his iPhone 15 Pro Max. Apple replaced his iPhone twice for free because it noticed the problem. Other iPhone 15 users on Reddit also reported that they requested a replacement from Apple, but the problem persisted on newer devices.

It is currently unclear whether there is a hardware error or a software problem in the iPhone 15 speakers. Apple has yet to acknowledge any related issues.
