After announcing the world’s thinnest foldable smartphone in July 2023, Honor is said to be innovating in the foldable smartphone space again this week with the upcoming announcement of Honor Magic Vs 2 in China.

The news comes from popular Chinese tipster Digital Chat Station on Weibo, who in their latest post shared that Honor is preparing to announce its next flagship foldable book-style smartphone, the Honor Magic Vs 2. There was a surprise presentation in China this week.

According to a post on Weibo, the Honor Magic Vs 2 is claimed to be even thinner and lighter than its predecessor, the Honor Magic V2, and is far ahead of its competitors (Samsung, Oppo, Motorola) in terms of ergonomics and pocketability. The Honor Magic Vs 2 is said to have a more premium build, with magnesium rare earth metal alloys instead of aluminum found in 2023’s more common premium smartphones.

Honor CEO Zhao Ming recently stated that the smartphone manufacturer aims to offer more technological products that go beyond people’s imagination, and one of them is a foldable device. In this regard, in July 2023, Honor launched the world’s thinnest folding device, Honor Magic V2, weighing only 231g, which is lighter than Apple’s iPhone 14 Pro Max (240g).

Honor Magic V2 also has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, up to 1 TB of storage and a 5,000 mAh battery with 66W fast wired charging support.
