What is known about the new Apple Pencil

Although the pen has its own characteristics, it is almost no different from previous generations in terms of design. It’s still a white pen that magnetically attaches to the side of the iPad. But if the previous version wanted $129, this one will only cost $79.

But the lower price means the third-generation Pencil won’t get some of the more advanced features found in the first- and second-generation accessories.

The first Apple Pencil model used a Lightning connector that protruded from it and plugged into the iPad’s charging port. The second-generation model already had wireless charging, but it wasn’t compatible with the 10th-generation iPad that Apple released last year, leaving owners of that tablet with limited options if they wanted to use Apple’s nifty stylus. However, now the company is in the recovery phase.

Apple Pencil USB-C is compatible with a variety of iPads, including:

• 12.9-inch iPad Pro from third to sixth generation.
• 11-inch iPad Pro from first generation to fourth generation.
• Fourth and fifth generation iPad Air.
• 10th generation iPad.
• iPad Mini sixth generation.

The most notable update is of course the introduction of USB-C, just like this year’s iPhones and the company’s headphones. To access it, you need to lift the cap on the top of the pen.

Apple Pencil with USB-C will be available at the beginning of november. It is not known whether the company will stop selling the second generation.
