Rugged Cyber Truck
When Tesla first introduced the Cybertruck, it said that the electric pickup would be bulletproof. The company stated that the car will have an external body that will provide maximum power and protection of passengers. We remember that Musk wanted to demonstrate the durability of the windows in the first presentation in 2019, but both were broken by a steel ball. But this was only the first version, which probably forgot to equip it with armored glass.
According to the company, in the latest modifications, each component was designed with high strength and durability in mind. From a virtually puncture-proof frame to an ultra-durable Ultra-Hard 30X stainless steel body and Tesla bulletproof glass.
Now a Tesla fan has posted a video that clearly shows the vehicle being shot at during the Cybertruck’s bulletproof test.
Tesla CEO Elon Musk commented on the post, confirming: electric pickup hit by Thompson submachine gun: “We emptied the drum magazine of the Thompson submachine gun into the driver’s door, Al Capone style. Not a single bullet entered the cabin.”.
Although Musk stated that no bullets penetrated the interior, it appears they only shot at the steel panels of the body, not the windows. That’s why their powers continue to be questioned.
Also, as Electrek wrote, Tesla’s trick of firing a .45-caliber bullet doesn’t prove it’s bulletproof. The truth is that it is a low velocity and very large blunt nose cartridge. If the Cybertruck had been shot with an AK-47 or a 5.56 caliber bullet from an AR15, the door would likely have turned into a screen.
