Samsung is reportedly planning to offer satellite support to its Galaxy S24 series smartphones next year. This was stated by Park Yong-In, President of Samsung System LSI, speaking at the recent Semiconductor Exhibition 2023 (SEDEX).

The executive did not directly mention the Galaxy S24 series, but said that Samsung has already made technical preparations to provide communication using satellites. This is a strong hint that the Galaxy S24 series will be the first Samsung smartphone to support satellite communications.

The addition of satellite support will be a significant upgrade for the Galaxy S24 series. This will allow users to stay connected even in areas with poor cellular coverage or during emergencies.

Samsung is not the first company to add satellite support to its smartphones, as Apple introduced the feature in the iPhone 14 series last year.

Additionally, Samsung plans to improve the graphics performance of its smartphones by improving ray tracing. Ray tracing is a feature that produces light reflections to add realism to games. Samsung introduced ray tracing for the first time on the Exynos 2200-powered Galaxy S22.

Samsung also plans to bring generative AI to the device on the Exynos 2400. Generative AI is a feature that allows a virtual personal assistant to give concise and human responses, create media (videos and photos), and more.
