OnePlus is preparing to launch its flagship smartphone OnePlus 12 in China. The company has already confirmed that the phone will feature the latest Sony Lytia lens as the main camera. Today, OnePlus revealed more details about the phone’s camera system, confirming that the phone will also feature a 64MP periscopic zoom camera.

The periscopic zoom camera will reportedly use the OmniVision OV64B sensor and have up to 3x optical zoom. OnePlus also shared some sample photos taken with the OnePlus 12’s periscopic zoom camera, and the results are impressive. Photos show that the camera is able to capture a lot of detail even in low light conditions.

Additionally, OnePlus 12 is expected to feature a 53-megapixel LYT-T808 primary camera and a 48-megapixel IMX581 ultra-wide camera. This will be the same camera setup found on the OnePlus Open. Additionally, the OnePlus 12 is said to feature a 2K BOE X1 OLED display with curved edges, powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC with up to 16GB LPDDR5x RAM and 1TB UFS 4.0 storage.

The battery is expected to have a capacity of 5400mAh and can be charged using a 100W adapter. Other rumored features include a 32-megapixel front camera and Android 14 based on ColorOS 14 for the Chinese market. OnePlus 12 is expected to launch in China this month, with the global launch expected in January 2024.
