Swedish electric car manufacturer Polestar recently shook up the tech community by announcing its entry into the smartphone world. The company, revered for its innovative approach to sustainable mobility, unveiled its new smartphone at the event, aptly named “Polestar Phone,” by offering a glimpse of its exterior design in a short video.

The render revealed a design reminiscent of the Meizu 20 series; On the back, there is a camera module highlighted by the distinctive Polestar logo and a protective ring made of Swedish gold. In particular, the design language of the phone seems to be inspired by the aesthetics of Polestar cars, further emphasizing the uniqueness of the brand. Additionally, the Polestar brand is elegantly written on the side panel of the device.

The video culminated in Meizu Group Chairman and CEO Shen Jiyu’s appearance in Star Chronicle, where Shen Jiyu confirmed the connection with Meizu 20 series phones, hinting at a partnership or common design elements.

According to reports, Polestar Phone will be integrated into Polestar cars by running the Polestar OS smart system. Observers noted similarities between the Polestar Phone’s user interface and Meizu’s FlymeOS, hinting at potential technology collaboration.

Differentiating the Polestar Phone from Meizu’s products, Shen Ziyu emphasized the phone’s “high-end smartphone” position by underlining the target price of 10,000 RMB by making comparisons with Huawei’s Porsche Design series. This positioning aims to elevate the device to a level of prestige similar to luxury smartphone variants.
