According to a leaker known as “Kosutami”, Apple plans to introduce a new thermal system to reduce overheating on the iPhone 16.

In a recent post on This move appears to be a response to widespread iPhone 15 Pro overheating issues, which Apple fixed with a software update earlier this year.

Graphene has high thermal conductivity that surpasses the copper currently used in iPhone coolers. Apple has been interested in graphene for temperature management for some time and has applied for patents related to research on the material to dissipate heat in portable devices.

Apple previously switched the Apple Watch battery from a black foil casing to a metal casing in the Series 7, so an equivalent change on the ‌iPhone‌ seems plausible.
